chass.is is a directory of classic car specialists. This page explains what information the site handles and why. Questions: .

No accounts

You can use chass.is without signing up, and we don't ask for your name or email to search.

What you search for

We record searches (the make, service or place, or the words typed into the search box), the country you're visiting from as reported by our network provider, the site language and how many results were found. We use this to see what people look for and which specialists are missing. No IP address or other identifier is stored with a search. We also count shop page views and taps on contact buttons such as Call, without anything that identifies you.

Your location

Only when you choose "Near me", your browser asks your permission and shares your position so we can find nearby shops. It's used for that search and not stored.

Saved in your browser

Saved shops and recent searches are kept in your browser's storage on your device, not on our servers. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.

Analytics

We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or store anything that identifies you.

Other companies involved

Cloudflare (security, fast delivery and visit counts), Hetzner (our server, in Germany) and CARTO (the map images). Each sees your IP address in order to do its job.

Suggesting a shop

If you suggest a workshop, we keep the name, email and phone number you enter so we can review the suggestion and contact you about it. The same goes for the details you leave when suggesting an edit or claiming a workshop.

Listed workshops

Listings contain business details from public sources such as the workshop's own website and Google. If you run a listed workshop and want something corrected or removed, email us and we'll sort it out.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing . You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
